Jointed Brown Trout Rapala for Browns

I just bought the 4" jointed brown trout freckled jointed Rapala (It costs around $6). Question: Would this work well in Pine Lake this summer? I'm going to focus on fishing Pine Lake this summer along with Margaret, and Rattlesnake. These three lakes will get most my time. I'm just curious if this lure will work for larger trout, and will it keep the little guys 10" and < off the hook? Also, would trolling leaded line at Pine lake be a smart idea for the brown trout, given that they lay on the bottom of the lake bed? I'm thinking about trolling the bottom of lakes this year; a change from years' past, because I want to get larger hold-over fish, rather than just the small little fish I get every year, and the occasional 15" holdover at some of my other little lakes...any insight here on the brown-trout-jointed Rapala?

yeah that may work but a good rainbow trout colored one always will do pretty well and fishing with leaded line is a good idea it keeps u down with little weight

Interesting concept, trolling with leaded line. If you get your line dragging on the bottom the lure will be raised up off the bottom as it's a floater, dependent on length of leader.

When you stop boat movement, the lure will rise up and when you start the boat up again the lure will dive for the bottom.

This is how we used to fish muddler minnows on full sinking lines for trout.

I would think the brown trout jointed would work just fine. I would even go as far to say pick up a few Rapala Rattlin' Raps at varied sizes. I might be getting a chuckle from a dedicated bass guy. But RRaps I've used for awhile and caught very nice 'bows and even a few wallys.
The jointed should do fine. Wheres Sam? He'd know better than I wood.

the best way still hands down would be worms or a good size stickbait

For the brown trout, try still fishing 3-4 live nighcrawlers impaled on a hook. Too big for the stockers to eat, but not for the brownies. That's what I usually use for them.

A friend did get a brownie on a wooly bugger at Pine, trolled/drifted slowly from a float tube.
