Okuma Kokanee Aveon Combo Product Review

Post by Ben Fougere » Fri May 17, 2019 12:46 am

Here's my Okuma Kokanee Aveon Combo product review. Please note, other brands are hard to come by here in Canada. Hopefully, we will be testing other kokanee rods and reels here in Canada in the future. Here's the review:

I had (have) two of the Okuma Kokanee rods and they really suck! I mean, I only got to fish with them for a couple months before they got hit and the last section broke!
Had to sleeve the last section of both rods.
Oh! Before I hit them (they were together) and broke the top sections in half? Awesome rods. I actually still really like them but the last section on both are a little stiffer then they were before the 'incident'.
Yes, it was my fault.
No, I was not serious about them sucking.
The only good part about the whole thing was I bought them in a shop that was moving so they had them marked down 50%! It would have hurt worse if they were full price. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

+1 on those yellow kokanee rods. They are my work horse rods, at $20 a rod they are a bargain and do the job well. Going on two years and no broken rods for me. They aren't in the same league as a $150 rod but seriously, who needs to spend that kind of money on a rod to catch 10-15" fish?
