A guy at work told me that McGinnis Lake on the Colville Indian Reservation suffered a severe winter kill. He got this info from a friend that lives in Coulee Dam, not far from the lake. Rumor has it that the winter was so long and cold that extreme ice cover depleted the oxygen. When the ice finally did melt, those beautiful brook trout ended up littering the banks.
Has anybody heard the same? It would be a crying shame if true.
