Just spent the week at Jameson

Post by tcb » Sun May 20, 2007 4:07 pm

If you thought I was awful quiet you were right! I just got back from spending nearly a full week at Jameson Lake Resort and going to town with 'bows!(see my fishing report).

Unfortunately, there are no real pictures as the fish size wasn't great. The action, on the other hand, was FABULOUS! They ate EVERYTHING! The water was great, no one on the lake but us, and just a good old time.

All six of us limited every day, and unlike last year there didnt seem to be as many bleeders. We had a big problem last year with mutiliation of the fish while trying to dehook them (I dont know why -- no beer was NOT a factor [-x). This year it was very very clean with only one or two fish injured by us.

About how long does it take you to get to Jameson from Seattle?

GPC Jamison is about 3 1/2 hrs from Seattle. It is dead square in the middle of state. Closest town in Mansfield. Your most direct route is highway 2

Hi guys. I know it’s a late comment on the subject of Jameson. I thought I'd add my two cents. I am 42 years old and have been fishing Jameson since I was 5. It is in my opinion one of the better lakes in WA. I have tried most presentations both trolling and baits at this lake over the years and have concluded that Pautzke balls of fire red eggs and a marsh mallow about 24 inches from the bottom has been by far the best producer for carry over trout. I haven't been to Jameson in the last couple of years and miss it a lot. We have always fish to the left of the launch in the cove. There is a bush at the bottom of the rocky wall (it's been there forever) and just out from there I and my family have literally caught hundreds of nice fish from this hole over the years. Every year I return to this lake, I fish this spot with the same bait and set up and limit nearly every time on 15 to 19 inch fish. If you get the time, it's a great lake. It's not without wind at times but worth a trip following the opener and in October for the second half of the season.
