jumping trout.

Almost everytime i went for trout this year, there were hundreds jumping not to far out there, but not far enough to cast a spinner out there and get them.

I have read something about an clear bobber, and flys. Would that work when the trout are jumping?

and if it did, what type of flys, and how would i set it up?

I have also heard good thinks about those clear bobbers, but have never used them. I have tried a fly on a regular bobber but have never done to well. I am not a fly fisherman, so I cant give you any patterns that you should try, the only tip I have is "match the hatch", just kind of check out the flies flying around and try to mimic them the best you can. They have a misquote pattern, and every lake has misquotes, so that should be a start. I troll dry flies with my ultra light and its a blast, the technique hasn't worked to well this year though. I know trolling a woolly buger on leaded line is deadly as well

If you're fish'in at beaver or the other lakes on the plateau. Bobber and a fly sounds like a good plan to me. You'll need about 4' of leader, like 2# at the most. Go with a tiny little black fuzzy/hairy one or royal coachmanish fly. They like mosquito's and the little gnats. Use some of the dry fly on your choice so you can leave it out a bit longer. Get it out there and bring in the slack. Give it a few little twitches now and again. Get ready to set the hook because they will take it then spit it out if you don't set the hook.
