North West Walleye Freeze Out Success

Post by wmaxwell48 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:50 am

NWW is not a club. It is, like here, a communications media for the Northwest Walleye fishing community. Each year for seven years now, this community kicks off the annual Walleye season is a gathering of the faithful in February. Tournament fishers, recreational fishers and those just interested in Walleye fishing are welcome. All coordinated by the internet site www.northwestwalleye.com. This year the event location moved to Kettle Falls, Washington. This is part of the Roosevelt Resivour on the Columbia above Colville. The turn out was great with 16 boats and 40 fishers. They came from Montana, Southern Idaho, Oregon, and all of Washington state. I am finding that this type of community development is replacing traditional fishing clubs. With no dues and the internet as the vehicle to plan and execute events, particpants find that their time is maximized for useful information gathering and building friendships for their passion to be on the water. The Freeze Out is a success because of these factors. And this year, unlike the few previous, every boat got fish. Success in more than one way.
