Liberty Lake walleye

Post by jgwinup » Tue Jun 23, 2015 3:02 pm

Anyone out there have success in Liberty for Walleye? I have never caught one and its my home lake. I picked up some black slimers and from what I read walleye like leeches. Any tips or ideas? From what I understand we cannot use real leeches in Washington?

leeches are legal provided you catch them from the same lake you are fishing in.

You might try some Rapalas over the weed beds at night.
Liberty is another WDFW success story.

Maybe there are still walleye in Liberty Lake and they just won't bite? Then they use the same theory as they did in Sprague Lake. LOL

It was a premier spiny ray fishery and so the WA Fish and Game Rotononed (poisoned) all the fish and now stock it with steelhead.

Ran into a person this last week who out of the blue said he had caught a couple 2 years ago. That's the first I had heard of anyone doing that.

That's all I have. Sorry

Liberty has produced a few Walleyes over the years.
IMHO! the WDFW only planted enough to say they tried.
I think more eyes have found there way into Liberty by way of the bucket than the truck.
