If I were to troll flies for crappie on a warm evening what might they be? Wet or dry? I won't be using fly pole or line just regular mono and spinning outfit.

I have lots of flies from a long time ago and I think I have a damsel fly. I will have to give it a try. Thank you.Anglinarcher wrote:I have also used damsel fly dry patterns to catch them, as well as bass and trout.
A damsel fly nymph, or a dragon fly nymph, trolled as you speak should work just fine as well. I have done well enough with a sink tip line out of a float tube that way, so you probably would want a little bit of weight on the mono.
I don't think I have anything along those lines. Just maybe the damsel nymph fly.JT26 wrote:I think something that looks like a dragonfly would work. I've seen sunfish attack ones stuck in the water, so maybe crappie will do the same.
