Walleye @ Lyons Ferry?
Im headed to Lyons Ferry to do some Walleye fishing. Any tips, baits, lures to use on the Snake or Palouse?
I posted a similar forum in the river fishing section and tied it to Steelhead and Catfish.
Any advise will be awesome!
Thanks in advance!

I have only fished Moses Lake and Potholes for walleye but I'm sure it's the same deal. Try using firetiger cranks bouncing them off the bottom while trolling, use a bottomwalker with a worm or leech, or try using a 3 inch plastic grub or worm. Not sure how the structure of the bottom is there but try to look for areas where it's either rocky or has a bunch of sandy humps on your depthfinder.

These techniques will always put walleye in the boat. But they did just outlaw live leaches in WA state. Not trying to come off in the wrong way, just dont want to see anybody get a ticket

Copy that. Thanks for the advise! With the bottom walker, how much leader should I use off the walker? Again it may sound like a stupid question cause I have never used them.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

When you leave the marina, go under the bridge and then into Sulphur lake (mouth of the Palouse) then stay way to the left and start trolling along the Rock walls toward the Palouse entrance.
Use firetigers, bottom walkers etc. or even just a Yellow Leach available in the store at Lyon's Ferry. We used the yellow plastics by themselves at a slow trolll about 150' back of the boat along the rock wall and did well in June.
BE VERY SURE of the mud flats and shallow water to your East. Look for a large tractor tire sticking up from the flats and stay WAY West of it and you'll not run aground. Spent 8 hours waiting for help after hitting the mudbar at 25mph!!! NOT a fun day!
Be sure to say hi to the McArthurs, they're really good hosts and a good info source. Jim can tell you about the channel conditions and what's working this week.

Never let the TRUTH get in the way of a good fish story!!

Hey Sell...the bottom bouncer (walker) itself ties directly to your main line...then the worm harness ties to the bouncer. The harness usually comes pre-tied on a leader, but if you're making your own you can use about 4' for the leader. Good luck and have fun!sellis_414 wrote:Copy that. Thanks for the advise! This trip will be a blast... We are planning on fishing for steelhead but we all know how fishing is... Good days and bad days... So if the steelies aren't biting its always nice having a backup plan. So thanks again guys and any additional advise is appreciated!

Didn't know they did that but good thing we didn't go walleye fishing this year lol. We never used those dirty things anyways, mostly stuck to bouncing cranks or bottomwalkers with worms in the past.gpc wrote:jbball50 wrote:I have only fished Moses Lake and Potholes for walleye but I'm sure it's the same deal.
