Northwest Fishing Reports

Okay starting this off I am Now living in Minerva OH so I am now in a warm water setting Have yet to hit the noprthern rivers for erie Steelies but will next fall and winter. I would like to know if anyone out in the washignton fishing land has any go to techs for skinny water river EYES. I have been taking my steelhead fishing techs and using them for these fish. either a thill bobber and a steelhead jig tipped with a live minnow or crawler. or drifting a sliny or lindy snagless weight with a crawler or minnow. any one have some better techs that are a go too? Oh and Should I intro duce these poor folk pout here to the wonders of yarn and corky and yarn and jig and prawn for the steelies? should Anyone?
If somethin is buggin a bass he hits it. and sometimes those bugs are baits and the bass gets caught.....

I'd side drift a crawler and Mack's Smile blade harness. One can also side plane a Hot shot, Wee Tad or some other type of plug for them. Staight jig should also work, it does in the big C.

I grew up in Ohio, and used to fish the Maumee River (which feeds into lake Erie) for Walleyes in the spring all the time. Not sure which rivers you are fishing, but for the Sandusky, I could catch them on a 4" curly tail grub with either a 1/4 to 3/8 oz ball head jig. Chartreuse, White or yellow would be the go-to colors. As to the steelhead techniques, those definitely work too, but I seemed to have better success bottom bouncing a jig. If you do happen to fish the Sandusky or Maumee Rivers, don't miss out on the whitebass fishing, they have huge runs, and are a ton of fun to catch too!

anything that is below normal flow I fish the mahoney thats for you david which looks like it might be at skinny water 3 feet to 6 feet at hoigh \water 10 to 15.. and winter and spring. 33 to 50 degrees and. about the size of the skagit river. remember I am fishing a mud bottom or cobble or boldur bottom.

I'm no expert, but yeah, jigs tipped with bait outta work in the winter. Of course, slow presentation is always recommended in the winter. Find the holes, anchor, and jig. From shore, toss them 3/4 oz'ers out as far as you can in the channel. Below damns is good in winter as well. Again, jig and bait. Spring? I suppose near spwan time the inlet creeks or slightly slower moving gravel area's will be best. Generally shallower, bobber, lindy rig, or jig bait. In summer, I usually have best luck tossing diving rap's from shore or trolling bottom bouncers in the channel with assorted lures....
