Silver Lake Cowlitz County

Drove down from Lacey to fish for Crappies in Silver Lake. I’m from Ohio so Crappie fishing is in my blood. I fished the public fishing dock but got skunked and I didn’t know where else to fish. In Ohio the Crappie would be in shallow spawning now but they weren’t around the dock. Is May a good time to fish for Crappies in Silver Lake and can anyone recommend a good spot to fish from shore. Any and all info is appreciated.
