Cool Boat @ Fish Lake
I went fishing today with an old friend and when we were coming off the lake, some nice folks were launching what they called a Wherry. It was about the size of a sea going dory, was hand made and beautiful. Here's a pic;

That is a beautiful boat. Where any of them the makers of the boat? Does it have two different oar lock positions? It looks like that just behind the person rowing that there is another place for the oars.

I forgot to ask who made it. I didn't even ask what it was made of. The stern is V shaped and when underway the boat leaves almost no wake at all. Because the stern in shaped the way it is, I think you could row it in either direction, or you could row it forward facing the way your going. I was so enamored with it that I forgot to ask any questions. I did remember to give them a WL.com business card and I told them the boat would be pictured here.

They are pretty boats, and I loved mine. Wherries, yawls, and whitehalls all were transom-sterned boats with essentially a double ended waterline. Originally built to haul large loads without swamping, they developed over the years into fast, slinky craft that row EXTREMELY well, with very little effort.
I built a Thames Rowing Wherry, but more of a lapstrake shape instead of cedar strip:

If you ever consider getting a rowboat to fish out of, definitely look at something like these boats. They are so much easier to row than what people call rowboats nowadays (which are really small power skiffs and row like a turd).
Thats a pretty boat, looks like a Cosine Wherry:

And it can be built from the plans and instructions in this book:
