Here's a KILLER deal on a great jon boat. That thing looks like it's never been used:

That's a great deal, looks like it's still in good condition. Don't be shy to look out for canoes, I grew up fishing in a canoe.

OK, this is ME. I'd rather go with that Jon boat. But that is just me, and that would work best for me.
You gotta identify what you want and what works best for you. That Jon boat is much more spacious and is gonna probably be able to fish 3 guys outta it pretty well....Plus, when you get some more cash in your wallet, a gas motor could be strapped onto that to take it out on sammamish and what not...

No, not necessarily. Do you need a boat tomorrow or this weekend? Or can you wait a month? What I do is wait for the boat that I want (I'm looking at a Grady White Spirit) and then when it comes on Craigslist.org...like it just did...I pounce on it...I lurk in the shadows on CL 24/7 for good deals on boats and motors...one can actually make good money making low deals and then selling high...I remember when we got an awesome Jon boat much like that for only $200, then resold it for $400...but be honest with yourself...do you need the boat right away? If not, wait and prowl...

I browse CL about every day and look at a lot of boats that go for sale.
KK is right, you could make great money doing that. I'm looking into doing that this summer. Wouldn't be a bad way to make some extra cash, and get a little fishing outta it. Buy a Jon boat when demand is low (middle of winter) and sell in spring/summer when everyones trying to pick up a boat for their fishing excursions..And doing this works for a lot of other stuff on CL besides boats...

No, it's not about what's easier to obtain. It's about what you want to fish out of for the next few years....Don't just try and get on the water asap.

Mr. Kafelafish hit the nail on the head. My aunt does this and brings in like 20K a year on top of her teaching salary of 42K...pretty nice when you think about it...furniture, fishing gear, electronics, etc. Buy low, sell high, ECON100...

Sounds good FishingMachine. Do what your heart tells you to do...not what I say, or Sam-K says...do what you want...ultimately you will be spending the most time in your boat, not me, or Sam-K, or any other member on this site...it'll be you and your buddies!
