So, the web site says you can take the course on line, but it did not give a web site that I saw, what is it? Where is the web site? It also indicated a home course coule be taken, so how do I get the info?
It's right here, pretty plain and simple, you'll do well:

http://www.boat-ed.com/wa/index.htm

Hope that link works out for everyone. It's only $24.50 and if you do the work, you'll pass the class and get the card. You can take it again if you fail for some reason, but I doubt that will happen. I'll probably do my course online, but might get my inland 6 pack before I get this...
I have it saved as a favorite now. Thanks

Well Bill and I just received our certificates in the mail today. We took the class at the Bonney Lake Police station and two of their water-patrol officers taught it. It was very interesting to take and they really wanted everyone to pass. I'm glad we took it even though we didn't have to. Thought I'd post this so it gets the thread back in view since it looks like the warm weather is finally here. Good luck to all that take the class. By the way, there were alot of young people in our class plus some other old people like us.

So sorry for this to be my first post. From the Spokesman this morning. Ted is a good friend:

Teacher dies in boating accident

Republic residents are mourning the drowning of a high school teacher in a boating accident, and school officials are bringing in counselors for students and staff when they return to school Monday, the school district said.

Dan Walling, an English teacher in the Republic School District for five years, died in a boating accident Friday on Lake Roosevelt, according to the district’s principal, Shawn Anderson.

Ted Torzewski, who teaches vocational education in the district, was injured in the accident and was in critical condition at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane on Saturday night.

Anderson said he knew few details about the accident. Officials with the Lincoln County and Ferry County sheriff’s departments referred questions to the National Park Service; officials with the Park Service could not be reached Saturday.

Anderson said Walling was an avid outdoorsman who had a wife and three children.

“He was an extraordinary teacher,” he said. “He was our debate coach, and he did a phenomenal job with the debate team. They were very competitive even against the larger schools.”

A crisis team from Educational Services District 101 will be brought in to help students and staffers, and a wall of remembrance is being created.

“Our hearts are reaching out,” Anderson said. “Small communities – you know how they are. We’re very close-knit.”

Only time will tell what happened, and rather a boating education class may have helped, but I too wish his family the blessings of the Saviour and the comfort of his redeeming grace.

On a side note, and I am not in any way saying that this happened at all, but people, drinking while boating is a death sentence. No class will make you stop, but maybe knowing that so many boating accidents involve alcohol will.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
