I'm contemplating an Eska 7.5 h/p outboard to power my 12' jon boat. My question for anyone who knows is; How long can I run an air cooled outboard and full speed before I have to stop and let it cool down?

Which I could answer that Lotech but I have one a fella gave to me a couple years ago that doesn`t run. Needs a small part. I just thought it was interesting that guys are still running them. I would think if it`s getting good air you wouldn`t but thinking about mine I don`t think they can get that much air. Good thing I typed in bet I`ve been a big help!!!:-#

As a long time friend, don't waste your money. They are a terrible motor, always have been.

It is not the high speed that causes engine temperatures to rise, it is the low idle speed that heats them up. All air cooled motors need higher rpm's to stay in the normal temperature operating range. This makes it a horrible trolling motor.

If you're looking for a small air cooled try the Coleman. they look like a nice little motor and have a big name behind them.

I didn't know Coleman made outboard motors. I looked them up and all of their models are water cooled. They look like a descent little motor and start in the $900.00 range.

Cabelas has a little air cooled one. I was looking at it las time I was in Lacey..... For a new prop, which they didn't have.

Just saw the same thing you did all water cooled. Kind of hard to miss the cooling fins on the one on display. Must have been an old one. The new ones look like the regular Tahatsu's that everyone else sells.
