blocking the water outlet hose
OK I live 40 miles west of Spokane and need a ask something. I have 2 outboard motors both Mercury a 15 hp 4-stroke and one a 9.9 but is a 15 hp 2-stroke.. So when getting them ready to run in the spring there is always some Insect thing blocking the water outlet hose. What are they?????
Re: blocking the water outlet hose
Probably a mud dauber - a wasp building a nest for their larva - dig them out and all is well. To keep them out stick in a golf tee at the end of the boating season.

Yup what amx said. Except I keep forgetting to do the golf tee trick. Apparently I prefer stuffing sticks up there to get them out every year!

The last couple of years we have had wasps wanting to build nests in the cowlings. Thats nasty when they come boiling out at 430 in the morning when your loading up the boat!
