terrova or powerdrive?
terrova or powerdrive?
I am looking to buy a bow mount trolling motor, and have narrowed it down to the minn kota. I want to know the differences between the terrova and the powerdrive 2. They look the same to me, the catalog seems the same, but the terrova is a few hundred more. (this is comparing 55lbs thrust, same shaft length, autopilot, same voltage, etc. basically same features!)
Why the price difference?

Google 'Minnkota' for their website. Call customer support. They were vere very helpful the last time I called about my Power Drive.

unless you really want that autopilot or whatever it is i would highly suggest one of the cable steer motors like the maxxum or the edge, but thats just me.

RE:terrova or powerdrive?
I am actually selling a minn kota powerdrive, 55lb thrust. its only a few years old if you are interested.
RE:terrova or powerdrive?
I can't use the rack and pinion cable steering because of the layout of my boat. I would love to though, they are cheaper.
I am interested in the powerdrive 55lb!

RE:terrova or powerdrive?
I've got a 40 lb thrust maxxum (transom mount). This motor is awesome because it uses much less power than an equivalent endura. The maxxum speed setting is also "infinitely adjustable", which comes in handy.

I just bought a powerdrive and maybe it's just me but if I had to do it all over again I'd get a motorguide because it's just lift the string and it's in the water. With the minnkota you have to push down two release levers and push the shaft out. My .02.
