Ethanol

Post by kodacachers » Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:20 am

I've heard a lot about ethanol in gas destroying fiberglass tanks. Does anyone know its effects on plastic tanks and outboard motors? Or where to get gas around Seattle that doesn't have ethanol? (I searched but didn't see this on any prior post). Thanks.

We have already discussed this on the forum...look under ethanol in gas.

It doesn't do anything to gas tanks, it is the water that can form in ethanol that will damage your outboard if used in too high a concentration.

Thanks Clam Man. I found it (must have had a typo the first time).
