When I wear neoprene waders I use the Caddis black fins (about $30 at most shops). If I'm just wearing swimming trunks (hot summer weather) I use a pair of US Divers split fins like these -

Again, about $30 for a pair.
I get MUCH better propulsion from the split fins, but can't wear them with the neoprene (too snug, will wear a hole in the waders). In the summer, I almost always just wear trunks and a t-shirt, so the split fins work great.
The Caddis fins float, but I use a Force Fin keeper to keep them attached to my calf -

I don't need to use the fin keeper with the US Diver fins since they fit snugly on my feet.

Aaron good idea on the force Fin keeper. As I am just starting to explore this aspect but fishing with a tube I didnt even think of losing the fins in the water. I dont think coming home and through the door saying "Honey I lost my fins" would work very well for me ... laughs.

I got some from a sports shop. I think they were like 30 bucks. They have a slit down the middle and are super light and flexible. I also have a pair of caddis but prefer the dive ones

Everyone's advice is really spot-on. Dive fins are superior; Force Fins aren't bad, but pretty pricey. A good dive shop really can help one out in the search for quality fins.
