if theres not enough lip, could you put it on the side of the bow. i put my minkota 30 on my pontoon with a peice of 1" sq, tube you could do that with two clamps.

the side of my jon boat has the typical round piping frame, so there's plenty of lip there. I just want to mount it directly in the front.

Would the boat move weird with the motor in the front /side corner?

IF your going to spend the time, buy a foot control bow mount. Well worth the fishing. I bolted diamond plating on the front and then bolted the mount on the plating. Worked great, I'm sure there's a ton of different ways.

Transom or bow, need to have it on the center of a jon boat.

I'm gonna build a mount for it this off season for next year. I have a foot control but it a transom mount. Motorguide bulldog. It pulls hard and works fine in the back of the jon boat. But when i travling longer distances. It would be nice to just pull the boat from the bow since the sled would cut through the water better than backwards.

I also can just use the pedal and turn the motor 180 and push it from the back. But i rather just run it off the bow for next year...

BTW anyone really interested in getting an awesome motor. the BULLDOG is the $hit!

This is how i mounted my trolling Motors to the front of my 14' jon boat. you cut wood blocks to fit and RTV and screw them in place.

For the $24 that the Bass Pro adapter costs you probably couldn't build one.
