Lakes for power boats
Heyo,
Haven't bought one, but it will be soon. I'm looking for a list of lakes in Washington State that allow powerboats over 100hp. If anyone has any input on great lakes or rivers for water sports, that would be appreciated.

Any lake not under special regulations will allow a motor over 100 HP. In fact, almost no bass boat has a motor that small.
Do you have a reason for your post? Am I missing something? Send me an e-mail or PM if I can help.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

**Basically all of Washington State. I have a brother who lives in Couer D'Alene, ID and one in Portland, OR so anywhere in between. If it's a great lake to boat I want to be on it. I'm looking at a 20' cuddy with 4.3 v6.

**What are the "special regulations"? Maybe a website that will show top 10 Washington power boat lakes, or something, I already looked though and that brought me to this website. And I'm mostly looking for glass, atleast glass early in the day, I don't mind sharing the lake.Anglinarcher wrote:Any lake not under special regulations will allow a motor over 100 HP. RE:Lakes for power boats
I think when somebody said "Special Regulations" they were just saying that unless you find something out there out of the ordinary... you're good to go. (special regulations just means,, CYA.... look at the launch for signs which may tell you the lake is a no wake allowed lake. Many lakes have a no wake allowed rule. Or a "nothing over 8 knots or whatever.
Lake Terrell in Whatcom county is a no wake lake. People on this site are going to be more in touch with lake rules that are in regards to fishing regulations, or a few lakes which allow electric motors only when fishing. Again, funky rules like electric motors is really all about smaller lakes, not the ones which your 100+ HP motor is probably talking about.
You have stumbled into a fishing site. I did one google search and came up with http://forums.iboats.com/
That is a Washington state boaters forum. General chit chat about power boating... pulling things, going fast, making waves, having fun. Those guys can probably tell you which lakes have that natural morning "Glass calm" that you talked about. That is a beautiful time to be boating, I agree.:bounce: Ask those guys about which of the big lakes are inherintly calmer in the morning. To me LK. WA. can be an awfully rough body of water due to the large amount of boat traffic, even though it is a good size lake.
Most of the lakes that people are talking about on this site (with the exception of Lk. WA. Sammamish, Stevens, Whatcom, and a few others) Are primarily little fishing lakes. Probably not the ones you want to go zoom zoom in.
Check that above link out, and good luck.

RE:Lakes for power boats
You say "Power Boats" and 100hp...
I have a Merc 115 and lots of my friends have Bass Boats with 200+ motors. Im thinking most lakes that dont specifically have a restriction of some sort will allow most any motor size.
Swede, Im coming over to look at your HUGE pic collection!!!

Yeah i guess the name of the website threw me. Washingtonlakes.com, didn't say anything about fishing. Forum breakdown goes washingtonlakes.com/forum discussion/boat and boating topics/ anyway. Thanks for information and gl fishing. The Quadfather wrote: You have stumbled into a fishing site. I did one google search and came up with http://forums.iboats.com/
