ROSES LAKE (Chelan County) LAUNCH AREA
I've had requests regarding the Boat Launch at Roses, so here are a few pics.
One thing to remember is the algae growth on the ramp during summer months, It Can be SLICK.
Most times there will be people fishing from the SMALL dock, but I have yet to have an issue with any of them while launching. I have on occassion had to "Politely" ask if they would move their fishing equipment out of the way while we are putting the boat in the water though. These pics don't show it, but the ramp is short, SO don't back the vehicle down into the water too far. Get out on the dock and you will be able to see where the ramp ends and then it is a drop-off. Being aware of these, you should have no trouble launching at Roses.
First pic is the staging area to launch.
The next three are of the launch and our boat to show perspective of the size of the launch and dock.
We're launching a 20 ft sterndrive.
Last pic is of a two wheel drive that backed on to the algae slick ramp. The pic tells the story.
A beautiful place to spend a day of three, so get out there and enjoy

Moral of the story...... always 4X4 for launching boats. If the launch is steep you want low range to take the strain off the drive train. I've sen that same show in the salt twice and once in the river. Bummer!
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Spot-on Bodo, using the 4WD at the launch can save lots of headaces in some instances, and is just plain good sense. Good ;uck out on the water.
