Smokin metalhead

Post by The Quadfather » Sat Dec 20, 2008 6:08 pm

HA HA,, I like that metalhead thing. I am going to whip out the smoker tomm. and see if I can keep it at a reasonable temp. to smoke a Steelhead for a party. I do have an insulator to go around it, and I may put it in the garage. No carbon monoxide worries peoples, garage door wide open., and it's electric. You may laugh on the temp. outside, :brilsmurf but at least I can test it with the insulator. And NO i didn't catch the Steelhead. The only one I've ever seen in my life was in Central Market, Shoreline WA.

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop

I'm not sure I could bring myself to smoke a quality fish like that. If I lived somewhere where they were abundant (like AK) I would be more inclined, but here in WA, where the average guy (me) doesn't catch that many quality salmon per year, I BBQ, bake, or fry in butter the ones I am blessed to catch. I look forward to the pink season for smoking. I smoke most of them and fish hard for them when they are in the salt.

If I had my way I would catch lots of, and nothing but, silvers, kings, and steel head, and in that scenario, I would smoke some for sure as I love smoked salmon. Unfortunately, that isn’t my world yet but someday when I retire it will be, where salmon, trout, and halibut are abundant and I have the opportunity to fish for them all the time. I can’t wait!
