Smoked trout main course?

I've got a bunch of smoked trout in the freezer so I figured I'd ask around to see if anyone has any idea on main course recipes to use these guys in? I'm getting a little sick of eating it just on crackers or in chowder (I've eaten a ton of chowder the last couple months).

Thanks

Top fettuccine, or linguine with broken pieces of smoked trout, top with a sauce of sour cream and heavy cream, sprinkle on a little dill. Serve with steamed asparagus.

I have chunked it up and thrown it into boxed meals before like Tuna helper or Fettuccine.

Another thing you can do is blend it up in a food processor, add cream cheese, sour cream, chives, and some hot sauce it makes an excellent sandwich spread. Just throw some lettuce and cheese on a slice of bread and lay down some spread. Yum!

Also, you could look up a recipe for salmon cakes/patties. You can make some pretty delicious ones out of smoked fish, its basically just egg, breadcrumbs, fish, and seasonings then sear it in a pan. They are tasty and can be eaten alone, or added to bread like a burger.

Take a bagel, I prefer Onion, slice and spread with Cream Cheese.

Take a piece of the smoked trout and lay it on top. Top with sliced onions, tomatoes, a little lettuce or better yet spinach, salt and pepper to taste, and enjoy.

That is one sandwich that people want!:compress:

Make yourself a large dinner salad and crumble the smoked fish over the top. I really like the Newman's Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing with this and serve with thick slices of hearty bread. Makes for a quick, light meal that doesn't require the use of a stove or oven, unless of course you get some brown and serve French bread or Focaccia. We also do this with crab and shrimp, or a combination thereof.

G-man, that sounds perfect for the girlfriend. She doesn't care for smoked fish too much but I think she'd like that one too.

Tonight I boiled up some pasta and put in some broccoli, green/red pepper, onion, garlic, mushroom, dill, and alfredo sauce and served that and it was amazing. The girlfriend even liked it, but with less trout than I put in mine.

Thanks again guys, this will help me out a lot (especially in trying to convince a certain someone to allow me to get a chest freezer)
