Sport clam season opens
early at Point Whitney Lagoon

Action: The sport clam fishing season at Point Whitney Lagoon will open on March 1, 2011.

Effective date: March 1, 2011 through March 31, 2011.

Species affected: All clams.

Location: Point Whitney Lagoon. The beach is located in Jefferson County on Hood Canal.

Reason for action: Surveys indicate that the clam population will support a recreational season during the month of March.
