Sand dab/flounder fishing from shore

Post by Nato99 » Fri May 14, 2021 12:00 pm

Are there any other good shore fishing spots for flat fish besides the PT Defiance boat house dock? Specifically looking for Sand Dabs and maybe stary flounder. I fish PT Defiance quite often but it's a little slow right now and I haven't been able to pull up anything big enough to justify a meal!
Is the dock in Steilecomb any better?

Wading the incoming tide around the fox island bridge and purdy beach was always good for me. I mainly used night crawlers on a single drop rig, caught more starry around purdy but there's good sized flounder at both places. As far as public piers go...well they so much pressure that if you ain't there at just the right time, you won't see much getting caught.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

[thumbsup] Thanks! I hadn't thought of either of those places. Purdy beach is a quick drive over the bridge

No worries...if you have sand shrimp the pilings under purdy bridge get some good sized perch around them too
