Ha ha... Was trying to find the right emoticon. I know what you mean; Just finished filleting yesterday's dozen perch and it's always a chore (though I won't complain about having fish).

maybe i should give this technique a try, might change my mind about perch. ;-)

I saw that video two years back and did that to my perch last season; Rib bones were still a pain in the arse. Now that I've got an electric fillet knife, I fillet everything I catch and skin/de-rib with a manual fillet knife. That would make a nice method for a quickie shore lunch though.

just wondering if anyone has been on this lake lately, thinking of going there sunday but it's a loooong drive from liberty lake. nobody has posted any reports since mine a few weeks ago.

I'd heard Sprague had spots of open water last week, so things might be iffy at Hog Canyon. You could always try Horseshoe (12" ice at least); You're probably a way better trout fisherman than me - you might have better luck.
