Post by stx514 » Mon Jun 24, 2013 2:12 pm

Ok looking for a low cost, med. cost camping area that ALLOWS, pets, fire pit cooking, fishing NO POWER boats, trolling ok, maybe power & water hook ups, alcohol consumption at camp site only, and close to Lake Kapowsin, or near Tacoma, Wa. Or another great fishing lake? ???

Go to the "Lake Index" section and search for Mineral lake reports. You can read all the past 5-7 years of reports.
In my experience, it has been a pretty good trout lake, with some very nice larger fish at times. There is a "Resort" term used loosely, etc. With a dock, and general store, camping, boat launch, etc.

My wife and I wnt to Mineral and Alder a couple of weeks ago. Caught my limit on Mineral, and did OK at Alder. (Still trying to catch some kokanee). Try Eastcreek campground about 2 miles from Mineral. Pets allowed and there is a large field that is great for the dog. Tent sites, trailer sites, and they just opened a small cabin. Not bad, right next to a creek.

Mineral has Bows,Brown Trout, spiny rays and crawdads. I stayed at the lil hotel on the quiet side of the lake. It had its own dock. mI caught limits and saw some bigguns in the pictures at the hotel. I liked Mineral. theres a small market with other stores and if needed Yelm is right there.
