Banks Lake In early to mid September

How's the weather there around that time? Issues?

Typically go in early June but we've been unlucky weather wise the past few years.

You should have a better chance of good weather in September. Temps have typically dropped into the 70-80 range, so much more reasonable than the 90-100 in August and rain should be scarce. Probably wont be able to have campfires yet, but that also means no rain!
I think you made a wise move, especially this year it has been wet over there this June.

We were there last week for 4 days. Was dry only 1.5 days lol.

Was thinking of trying again .
