Alsea river

Has anyone fished there. My dad grew up fishing there catching alot of differnt fish. He would catch smallies, rainbows, brooks, cutts and many slamon species. Steelhead and sea run cutties too. DOes anyone have any info on thiis river. How are the hatcheries doin lately? what species are still left?
I didn't climb to the top of the food chain just to become a vegatarian!

I dunno first hand, but my brother just caught two fish. He's in schol at OSU and I told him to go fishin. He said the fish are smaller, but he caught two steelhead in a week.
