Fishing around Portland

Post by sven2k5 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 1:06 pm

Going to Portland for business this weekend. Have to perform one job either Friday or Saturday which only takes about a couple of hours. Was thinking to take my fishing gear with me .... but what is there to target in the Portland area right now? It has to be close to the airport since I have to perform the job at the airport and it could happen at any given time throughout Friday and Saturday. Any suggestions?

Not much, pretty early for Springers and with all this rain the rivers are muddy. The only fishery near the airport is boat fishing on the Columbia for Springers but too early for that.

At almost 60 degrees over the weekend, looks like you got some good options to me especially for lakes/ponds.

I fished Henry Hagg Lake a few years ago, there were a lot of good sized bass and crappie and it had good bank access- that's about an hour from Portland though.
