It appears the pike forum needs some uplift as it appears to be lacking activity so I thought I would try and breath some life into it. I will be going pike fishing in two weeks to Box Butte Reservoir in Nebraska where I caught 30 pike in 2.5 days and lost 3/4 that many two years ago (below are pics of my trip).
Not only is it a good pike fishery, but it is also a good bass and walleye fishery as well.

You don't catch a whole lot of big pike as it is overun with small pike so the Nebraska Fish and Game commission has enacted a protected slot between 28-34 inches where you can keep 10 fish per day (only 1 over 34 inches) with a total possession limit of 20 (back in 2008). As you can see from the link above it appears to be decreasing the population of pike as well as increasing the size structure. Due to the catch rates I had, this lake reminds me a lot of the POR even though it is nowhere near as big at only 1600 acres. Although you will see the catch rates are not lacking with over 19,000 pike caught last year alone out of the lake (that is only from the people that they surveyed).
