Ouch! Lol! I fish the main river all summer and fall old wise one!! Just something about sight fishing that makes it that much more fun! Plus seeing some of those 40"+ fish just cruising around! And as long as you stay away from Davis Slough you don't see too many people...

In fighting in the Halls of Chapter 60, cabin fever has set in. A little trash talk is good by me and you guys keep yapp'n while I sneak across the mountains and catch those Hog Pike and Monster Muskie in your backyard. Hey back to the thread, what do you think of one of these? Musky Dinner Bell "Stacked" FCS

Hey Everyone,

Nate from Ch. 57 here, long time since I have been on to talk... I apologize, life has been pretty hectic but now I can try and concentrate on the important things such as getting caught up with what is going on with Fishing here in the Great Northwest. Anyhow I wanted to comment on the idea of Favorite Baits for the Pend Oreille. Since I have only fished it once and used my past knowledge and experience from growing up fishing the Mid-West I trust in my old faithful lures. So I guess you could say I have more than one favorite for the Pend Oreille. For the sake of not embarrasing anyone individual, and I am sure you know who you are, I have a particular Spinner Bait with Willow Leafs and a Sunfish Color skirt that seems to be one of my meal tickets for the Pike over on the Pend Oreille and when that slows down it seems that the old 5 of Diamonds is the trick up my sleeve lure. In the Mid-West when things are slow these two baits have seemed to be absolutely dynamic and for fishing the Pend Oreille only once I can say the same again about these two lures. Now I do have some other lures that I am very excited to try but I don't want to get any hopes up until I get back over that way and actually test how well they work. I would hate to endorse something that I am not positive on as of yet. Trust me though, if these particular baits do end up being money in the bank for me, I will ensure you all are the first to know about it. I can't wait to get back over that way in March and trust me, if all goes well I will ensure that Chapter 60 gets some of the proceeds as my way of saying THANKS for giving me a new home to fish away from home!!! You all are seriously great people to be around and fishing wouldn't be what it is without your same passion for this sport as I have. Pike and Musky are both my First loves in this sport and it is Great that their are others who respect and understand what these fish are all about. Talk with everyone soon, get that gear ready and the lines tightened, spring is just around the corner or at least that is what my Rod and Reels keep SCREAMING!!!

Where you been Nate? You know those spinnerbait of Nate's really do carry the distance on a good cast and even more on a bad one.

That looks very good sparky! Taking the words from a famous t-shirt worn by one of our members here, "I'd hit that!"

Couldn't resist, I have a few of those Musky Dinner Bell (Stacked) on the way. I just didn't have enough lures in my tackle box. Are we down to 10 weeks yet?

So Doug W and Sparky,

I think we should have a Fish Off where Doug W uses his lure that he made and Sparky uses one lure of choice from his arsenal and whoever catches the most Pike on the Pend Oreille between the two of You on the one lure gets a side Prize!!! I too would love to get in on this action, but I will leave the competition rules up to the Tournament Director :salut:

Have a Good One, Keep the Lines Tight and Reels Crankin!!!

Ok here is how I see it, we use it as a fund raiser for both Chapters. We can only use 1 lure each of our choice, 8 hours of fishing. Add the length, most inches total wins. Each Doug will have a net man/camera man to catch the action. We can figure out the rest.

OK I will be Sparky's Camera Man!!! I don't have a problem netting fish as long as I get my fair share of action every now and again. We all know the Pike are relentless when they are on and sometimes you can have a double to where you need a Third net man or a really good fishernet man LOL... I guess you could say my Little Man Hunter makes up for my inability to catch fish and net at the same time. He will hold onto his pole and net fish without missing a beat, I know Sparky can vouch for this. Let's just say my Little Man didn't miss one fish with the net back in October and I can't tell you how proud and Nervous I am of the fact of how good a fisherman He is. I hate to say it but He might just beat his Old Man out when He gets a little older. It's bad enough that He currently holds the Bass Record in our Family whether it is fishing from the boat or on land. Currently He is the leader with a 19 Inch Bass back in Florida and that was HIS VERY FIRST BASS Ever!!! Talk about Scary, I am just hoping I have a shot at a Large Pike or Muskie before He beats me to that too!!! If he does though I would be the PROUDEST Dad Ever for his accomplishment at such a young age. Who knows we may be looking at the Next KVD or the next Pete Mania. Well maybe I need to take on my son in the one lure challenge and see who wins!!! We could just make it a complete family friend fisherman challenge across the board!!! Sounds like it would be a real fun trash talking event with plenty of stories and laughs to go around!!! :bounce: Look forward to talking some more on this.

Nate

" Duel of the Dougs"...???
Film at 11:00!

Now all you need is a tag team with Cudaman and Craig and let the trash talk begin, lol.
Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:
