This is shaping up to be a bigger competition than the Curlew Lake Tourney.... What are we putting on the line? (other than our own custom made lure)

Well what can I say, I guess I have really done it this time!!! :bom: I guess that is what I am known for, suggesting some off the wall idea and then watching it turn into a full out competition!!! This is GREAT!!! Who would have thought that Cabin Fever would cause this, well I am ready to grab my rods and reels right now and head over to the PO. Too bad I have to work tomorrow, oh well I guess that is what makes it worth the wait, 2 months and counting!!!

From what I hear you would have to bring your auger and tip-ups to fish tomorrow! The competition is always fun though!

You know I was just kidding before, but it sounds like the some "Pike Fest Smack Down" between 57 & 60 winter warriors is brewing. Westside Raindogs vs Eastside Sun Slackers for a one lure, no holds barred, tag team competition. One day only coming to a River near you.

You guys know how to take the chill off January weather! Any way FCS can play too or is this a handmade contest only?

I'm fighting the cabin fever at 0 degrees makin custom spinners in the cold and would be happy to throw in a dozen FCS spinners for the winning Chapter, just to participate from afar. Will even send some free ones to each chapter to put out in drawings, just to get some FCS in the water. Another dozen if the winning team has some FCS in pictures.

I might even be persuaded to send along some stretch fit FCS hats or go make some FCS patches.

Your on "Doctor of the Dinner Bell". Great support for the big event. It might be snowing and cold outside the competiton is heating up. I don't know if its cabin fever of the "Power of the Pike" maybe a little of both. The "Big Dogs' of Pike Prowess are sure to be going into training for the event. Workouts are being put together by some high priced personal trainers. Mighty Mel is certainly baking energy boosting pies for the Sun Slackers. Muskie Maddy is lining up indoor casting drills for the Raindogs.

Oh, I see off to winter train in the Keys. Enjoy the sun, catch a lot fish. Don't worry about us here in the cold and snow, freezing our hineys off.

Dont worry fellow chapter 60 members you will all be on my mind when and if i catch some barricuda which look alot like a Pike or Muskie. Also i think all were packing is shorts and t-shirts and flip flops lol. Nothing like some good ole florida fishing training to get your casting muscles pumped up LOL. Sparky your always in my thoughts when I'm fishing lol.. I personally cant think of anymore lures that i use on the Pend Oreille River, except my secret bait lol..

all this pike trash talk has got my blood pumping for some pike. I must say all the talk has got me thinking about the great action of fishing we had up there in may!! Between 1 cow, 4 doubles, and a few monster shake offs, I think I am going to have to watch the video again!! While you guys are keeping the pike talk hot, I will be moving into the new house....20 minutes from Elevenmile & Spinney and only 1 hour from Taylor Park Reservoir!! Bring on the pike!!

Hey Lucius,

Nate here from Chapter 57, I hear that I owe you a trip for either Pike or Muskie according to Doug or as we like to call him "Sparky". He says that You and I need to set up a time to talk about PIKE!!! and then plan a trip both here in Washington and in your stomping grounds in Colorodo. Give me a shout some time on my cell (770)365-3755 I am certainly up for the offer!!! Look forward to swapping Pike stories!!! I know that I already have some from the Pend Oreille and am looking forward to more coming in March. I am sure Doug can explain more in detail!!! Have a good one.

[laugh] Not quite yet, Doug. You may have a window of warm weather, but we're far from being out of the woods yet. Remember February 2, 1996? The temperature at 7:00 A.M. was -24º with a wind chill of -60º. I remember it well because I was working outside.:shaking: :shaking: :shaking:

Some on the heaviest snowfalls I've seen in Spokane came in February. But hey, you keep hoping. Maybe you have some influence with Mother Nature. I gave up years ago, she doesn't listen to me.[sad]

Oh Doug can attest, if I could make it out there I would in a heart beat, but with purchase of a new house, I have to recoup the down payment. Believe you me, I will be up there sooner rather than later.

Once I get things worked out down here I will take you up on that offer for some pike fishing and anytime you guys have the itch to come to colorado, let me know, you are all welcome. Some one better catch a big pike for as much teasing as you guys have been doing!!:-"
