Columbia Basin Reports

Post by littleriver » Sat Apr 28, 2007 10:50 pm

I think the idea of separating out the columbia basin is a good one...

but you've broken up into way too many pieces.. most of which are totally unrecognizable even
to those who fish these waters regularly...

I would consolidate to make it more compatible with the regs....

Illwaco to Bonneville

Bonneville Pool

Dalles Pool

John Day Pool

McNary Pool

Ice Harbor Pool

Lower Monumental Pool

Lower Goose Pool

Lower Granite Pool

Priest Rapids to Rocky Reach

Entiat Lake (Rocky Reach Pool)

Rufus Woods Lake

Lake Roosevelt

still a lot of options but much more concise...

If you set it up this way I will start cutting and pasting weekly reports from
WDFW and ODFW into the respective areas...

These reports cover Illwaco to McNary Dam broken down
into target species and areas as suggested above...
Fish doesn't smell "fishy" because it's fish. Fish smells "fishy" when it's rotten.

Thanks for the input. Building a whole new section can be hit and miss. I will talk with Aaron about your suggestion. And, that would be great if you are willing to cut and paste those WDFW reports on a regular basis!

lets not forget the seep lakes, potholes, moses, billy clapp(way underfished),soda, goose and quincy lake chain.these lakes are all over over here and no reports and cant rely on mardon resort to help-they just say its slow and wont give any info on any lakes but their own.also maybe rocky ford creek for fly fishing, its rated #8 creek worldwide by the flyfishing mags.i thing a seperate section for the colombia basin lakes and sloughs are needed for west siders to read and know where to fish and i need it too, there is too many lakes to choose from over here.
