What program do you use to edit your pictures? Most digital cameras come with some type of editing software. You want to find the editing option "save for the web" or "save for e-mail" and resize the pics down in total file size (not actual picture dimensions).Cman2007 wrote:the pictures my camera takes are to big how do i resize them???

Personally I find the easiest way to post pictures is to use a third party like say Picassa or photobucket, up load the pics to them and just link to the picture. Save Mike and Aaron a ton of space too. If you do that the pic will automatically be sized when you post here. No photo shopping needed. easy squeezy!

Irfanview!
My favorite pic editor hands down. It's free, easy to use and will open most any picture file, resize it and save it into the format of your choosing.
Just do a search in google, yahoo, etc it will come up.
I think I previously posted instructions on how to use it, I'll see if I can find it and post the link.

I use Microsoft image resize tool. It's free to download from Microsoft and once you install the program on your computer, all you have to do is transfer your pictures to the computer and right click over the picture you will see the option to resize it. It will not do anything to your original picture, instead, it just makes a duplicate copy of the original. It's super, super simple.

sad to say, doesn't work with Vista. Another downside of my upgrade. :-(Pradeep wrote:C -

A quick & easy way to reduce photo size is to email the photo/photos to yourself. Your email program (Windows operating system XP & Vista) will reduce the photo size automatically. When you receive the email that you sent to yourself...open it...right click on the photo...and save the new photo into your my pictures. Then use this saved photo to load it onto the WL.com web site.

cool, never knew it could do that automatically.
RE:resizing pictures fot the forums?????
Well... almost automatically. There is a drop down box and you'll have to insure that the box that states "Make my pictures smaller" is checked and then click on OK. It works great.
