Post by Marc Martyn » Sat Oct 08, 2011 10:14 pm

Do we have email notification saying that we have a new private message?

Did you get my PM?
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I looked yesterday, I saw no selection to click on so an e-mail would/could be sent.

It's under your User Avatar, or are you referring to something else?

Nope. We mean when a PM is sent, the person recieving the PM gets an e-mail telling the reciever that there is a PM.

Let's see if I can upload a picture (which is below the text entery box, "Upload Attachment" tab). So, it's in the User Control Panel under preferences:

I read that. It does say ''users can contact me by e-mail', which would maybe be seperate from PM notificaton.

And 'notify me on/of new private messages'. [probably should be spelled 'of' instead of 'on'. :-) ]

But nothing about sending the PM reciever an e-mail when a PM is sent to them. But, maybe that is part of the 'users can contact me by e-mail', but doesn't mean that to me, but I'm just a simple person ans easily confused by computer stuff. I'll go back and check that to 'yes'. I just don't want my e-mail addy hanging out there in limbo.

I also clicked 'yes' on 'Notify me on new private messages', which is probably the popup for a new PM, that is also clicked 'yes'. Now I just need a new PM. [biggrin]

Well, I sent myself a PM awhile ago, no popup window, and no e-mail.

You can turn off the e-mail notification if you want. Lower left at the bottom of each thread.
