Colorful Sub Forums?

Post by hewesfisher » Fri Oct 28, 2011 12:03 pm

I've noticed certain sub-forums are now colored when I log on. I'm going to take a SWAG, are they the sub-forums I've participated in? For example, Freshwater FIshing, Walleye & Panfish, Trout and Kokanee, are all orange, but other sub-forums like Fly FIshing, Secret Lakes, & Muskie Fishing are not. I know I've participated in the first three, and have not in the last three. Just curious.

I believe they are orange because you have clicked on them and your browsers history still has a record of you clicking on it.

It has nothing specific to do with the forum. It's simple HTML and browsers.

The link, or <a> tag, as many types. Default, Visited, Hover, and Active. The orange ones are Visited.

Open this link:
http://washingtonlakes.com/LatestReports.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any of the reports you've read will have a different colored Read link than the ones you haven't read.

Yup on the fishing reports, I noticed that before.

NOW, I just thought of something, so I tried it, AND IT WORKED!

What I did was different than what I usually do. What I usually do is click on the little box at the front for the 'first unread post', or the little box at the end for 'the last post'.

What I did to test is click on the TITLE of the thread, then went back and the TITLE for this thread now showed in orange. :cheers:

That must be it. Guess the color thing threw me. Always knew of the report change, that's how I keep up with the most recent reports read. [thumbup]
