Computer locking up when I try to read reports

Post by Anglinarcher » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:29 am

Mike and Aaron, I have noticed that recently my computer tends to lock up when I am trying to read the fishing reports. I have to use the Control-Alt-Delete to clear the site and start over.

I have checked for virus, etc., and everything seems fine.

Any ideas [confused]

Worked fine for me a couple hours ago, and works fine now.

Have you cleared your computer's history and temp files lately? MAYBE that could help.

Yes, I do a disk clean about every other day. I did one this morning. I also did a defrag last night.

I have noticed that it does not always do it; sometimes it works just fine.

It's probably something to do with your browser, and an ad doing something that the browser doesn't like, or can't understand. It's something on your end, not the site, it works fine for me. What browser are you running, and which version? Which os?

I am using MS Windows XP professional, Internet Explorer. For the most part, these are pretty common and the XP-P is usually the most stable of the Micro Soft probrams.

That's yer problem right there. Internet explorer really isn't the greatest browser. It struggles to keep up and crashes when it shouldn't. Try to use google chrome or firefox, and that may solve your problem. Make sure your flash player is updated also, and if you want to stick to IE you're using the latest version.

I am using a company computer. They do not allow Firefox of Chrome due to comflict reasons. The IE version I have is always the latest and greatest.

LOL - guess this one is going down in the mystery file if pointing at the most often used browser in the world is the only answer. :salut:

If it is a company computer there may be somethings being blocked that prevent the page from loading properly. Our compay blocks a bunch of stuff for security reasons and many sites don't load properly because of all the flash and java content, so you may want to check with your IT department. Also, the later versions of IE have a compatibility mode that you can try.

IE isn't called "internet exploder" for nothing. Considering your on a company based computer. The IT people would be the ones to talk too. Unless where your browsing on the computer is not what you would like to be divulged. :-"

I am using Mozilla firefox and not having any issues with WaLakes..........other than logging on using the same password I've used since becoming a member. That is a WaLakes sight issue.
