annoying pop up on home page

Post by The Quadfather » Mon May 12, 2014 9:04 pm

Anybody else getting that pop up on the "Latest Reports" page. It comes from below where you user name, and number of posts and stuff is, on the Left hand side of page. If you accidentally drag your mouse over the add, even quickly, it will open up across what you are reading.
And no, it isn't a matter of closing your Pop-Up options. [thumbdn]

If I am looking at the right page. The add is on the right hand side. I see adds, but they do not open when the cursor enters the add space.

Here is what I'm showing if I use a browser that doesn't have ad block installed. The add are foreign(top left) and irrelevant to most of us such as fashion(right). I guess as long as the admins are making a few bucks to cover hosting costs, they are happy. ](*,)

Thanks for getting the screen shot, I'll forward it to Aaron to look into.

I'm think somehow my add blocker at home got dislodged or something, because it's not a problem at work. At home I run Mozilla.

I do see the left side square ad there have been some that expand if you mouse-over... so don't mouse over. #-o

The ad choices in those two slots are almost exclusively Google AdSense. We don't have control over individual ads or advertisers, unless we specifically block one that is an issue.

AdBlock on google chrome = zero ads for me... firefox was misbehaving, I deleted it and IE from my computer COMPLETELY! Also, changed settings for updates to occur only once a day instead of hourly.... computer is running smoother now despite it's ancient age.
