Ya, took me at least 4 times to log on, and then I sent an e-mail in, and then I got logged on.

I click on reports and I am logged in, click on forum and I am logged out. Goes back and forth without ever going to log in screen with user name and password, just the login/logoff changes.

HaHaHa That's ok, you have a lot going on.

I have to test it again over night, now that I've deleted the cookies.

well it's morning, and 3rd test was another fail - was logged off, and took awhile to log on

clicked on 'log on' thing and it took me to the home page and said I was logged on

went back to 'active topics' and I was logged off

closed the browser and started over.

I've remained logged in for 3 consecutive days now. Using Chrome as a browser.

Do you two turn your computers off EVERY night, or leave them on EVERY night? Or sometimes turn them off, and sometimes leave them on? Sometimes I'll leave it on, sometimes I'll turn it off.

My computer gets rebooted a couple times per year. My browsers get closed about that many times as well.

I use Incognito and InPrivate browser sessions to test logins for alternate test accounts because the cookies are destroyed when you close the browser. My main Chrome window always stays open and logged into everything.

I am using Chrome as well, but cannot even get to forum and stay logged in. Every time I click forum I am logged out, but automatically logged back in if I click reports? I have cleared cookies a couple of times.
Earlier today clicking forum sent me to an error page?

By earlier today, do you mean before 830am? There was a new forum bug I introduced last night but had fixed by 9am.

If you;'re clearing your cookies, but are automatically logged back in from any page, then you're not clearing your cookies.

here's the deal... the forum and the website are 2 separate entities that can't really share cookies. the "website" cookie is driven by the existence of a forum cookie. If you are logged into the forum, it logs you into the website. it does not work the other way around.

Click the login button. Login. Go to forum. You should be logged in. Clicking logoff logs you off both. Clicking logoff does not clear cookies. Your sessions and mine are using the exact same code. I'm having no difficulties since 3 days ago when I found and fixed a bug that was not setting the auto-login button and/or not settings the cookie expiration to 365 days. Since then I've been logged in 24/7 unless I logoff on purpose to test something. IE, Chrome are the only 2 browsers I test extensively. Neither has been having a login/logoff/cookie problem for 3 days now. I'm continuing to TRY and break the site and find myself logged off, but so far no luck.

BTW, when you see an actual ERROR screen.. please report it with a screenshot or detailed account of what happened. I cant fix what i dont see.

When I cleared the cookies yesterday, I cleared them all, from my computer, not just those for this web site.

When I 'log on' I'm on the 'active topics' page. When I get kicked off I'm on 'active topics' page. When I go anywhere on the web site I do it from the 'active topics' page, other than the fishing reports, as I have a shortcut to there on my desktop. 'active topics' is my 'home page' for here. I get there by having a short cut on my desktop. I NEVER go to the web site's home page because I've never seen anything there that interests me.

So, if I go to 'log off' and do so, where do I go to 'log on' and stay on for the whole web site?

'main menue' or 'home page'? I did it on 'home page' right after I asked. So will know tomorrow morning when I refresh the 'active topics' page when I get up in the morning. Or maybe 'Board index' is the 'main menu'.
