Post by bigastrout » Mon Jun 04, 2007 11:41 pm

What is the maximum size a file can be when attaching it to a forum post?

What file types can I attach to a forum post?

Honestly I don't know about the size, but it wouldnt make sense to attach anything larger than 100-200k... and as far as file types, lets just stick to jpegs.

there are any number of photo editing software that have a "resize for the web" type option. I use Microsoft "Picture It", there are others of course. If you live near a Half Price Books store you could find a used copy for cheap.

I throw all my pics into photobucket and they web ready it for you. Once you upload your pics you can check an individual picture or bundle of pics and then go to the bottom of the page and hit Generate HTML Codes tab. This hooks you up with the created codes to copy and paste to websites.

I figured it out thanks guys. The JPEG files were being converted to a strange format when I was compressing them.
#-o I got them down to a couple hundred kb now.
