Qfc last week had Keta alias Chum on sale last week. Try calling a QFC or even safeway.Tell them why you want it. I bet they would give you some of what dosent sell.Id try stores and fish mongers.Tell them why ,the name of the org,in other words make a lil shpiel(a written doc). I'd give you what I have but I dont freeze fish.Youre a good guy Curado.Thank you for caring about the enviorment we all share in the Great N.W

Check with the cold storages in town. You might be suprized to see what they will find tucked away in a corner. Seafreeze and Seattle Cold. I've been out of the biz for a few years now but they never change.

Great call Bodofish.
You can also try calling K-pac cold storage. Bodofish is right on the money, these guys end up with all sorts of damaged cases and typically put them in a corner somewhere until they are written off of inventory.
Another shot in the dark would be Stockpots Soups in Everett. When things like chicken hit thier expiration dates or are less than quality standard, they sometime will discard hundreds of lbs.

Good luck.

I don't live in the Seattle area, but you might even call Pike Place Market. They may have something also. Another thing would be to call the local zoo and see where they get their food.

Most of fish mongers at "The Market" freeze their fish at the local cold storages when they get to the use now date ( about a week on ice). But they may have a "lot" of fish they aren't to proud of, not bad but not great either.

I think what Curado is looking for is probably some dark fish that's close to a year old...... A little better than prison quality. I've pack a lot of fish destined for the zoo and trust me it's a lot better than what the prisoners get fed. Most of time it was dark chums, #2 quality (visible scars or cuts) yet good meat.

Curado, i'm guessing it's a real non profit with the documentation to prove it. It can be a big help in getting donations if the donator knows they can write off the donation. Have paperwork ready when asking.

They had 5 'fish' laying out in the sun on the sidewalk the other day. You could probably have them. :chef:

hey curado, i got a bunch of trout and salmon over at my dad's house. he said he wanted the fish but never got round to eatin'em. I was gonna use them for crab bait, but if y'all can use them for something better. they're all yours. I don't drive cuz dl is suspended if we can work something out to meet in federal way or there abouts i'll give it to u.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.
