$26,000 lure

Post by gpc » Tue Jul 31, 2007 12:30 am

I know this seems kind of unbelievable but its the truth. I cant remember the name of the company, but they had a booth a the sportsman show at puyallup 2 years ago. This $26,000 lure was a fly. It was 4 karats of diamonds and 24 karat gold and the feathers came from endangered bird species. And to make matters worse they only came in packs of 3. They also had spoons that were solid gold or had diamonds or platinum. The spoons were in the $300 range but got really expensive. I stopped and talked to the guys who ran the booth and they said that people really use the flys. They said that no material will out shine real gold and diamonds so their lure will out fish any lure. But it would be a hell of a ride home after loosing a $26,000 fly LOL

Must not be a dry fly. No amount of floatant could keep 4 karats afloat. :compress:

WOW!
That's one lure that will never see the water.
Unless Bill Gates is a fisherman.

Me too, I bought a whole case they worked so well..... Good thing they are cheap, hahahaha. Dang, if I had 26 grand to blow, I would definately spend it on something more usefull, like a downpayment on a house or a car, but to each their own.

I saw something simular to that at Amazon a while back. Had to search for it, but I found it. A few spoons as collectables, but they have jewel encrusted flies as well (all for show of course). Check it out:
