Who here takes some time to dig their own worms? Or do you say screw it and spend the $2.50 for a dozen

I say screw it buy them. But I heard if you mix a little mustard powder in a weed and feed bottle and water things down with it the mustard will irritate the worms and they will come to the surface. Then just pick them up. But I have never tried it so if the mustard kills your lawn don't blame me

I don't even have to dig. I just turn over a flower pot (thanks to the wife for having a green thumb) and I have all the worms I can use in a day.

I used to buy the worms, but now I maintain my own worm farm throughout the year. It works exceptionally well and saves me money for bi-weekly worms as in the past.
