Minecraft Server Question

Hello,
So I have created a Minecraft java server for my son and his friend to play on. Well, his friend's computer died so now my son wants to play but not on his own, so I went out and bought the game and intend to play it. But I got motion sick from playing and I have read that sometimes switching to a less blocky texture pack can affect that. He doesn't want that though, so my question is this: can I install a texture pack on my computer and see it?
