1/4 oz pink jigs
It's getting to be that time of year.
1/4 oz on #1 Mustad Steelhead Hooks. I paint em (vinyl) and tie em myself and have about 50 available for sale.
$2.50 each
Too lazy to mail, I live in Shoreline, work in Bellevue and travel around the north end of Lake Washington on a daily basis.
PM me if you are interested in some.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

If I was a pink.... Well you know. I wouldn't be shy about hanging on to one for some steel either.

sweet looking jigs! Have you tried powder coat? Two coats and some long slow heat and they are rock hard.

Played with powder coat a little but not a whole lot. If I were to really want to make a go of the jig business I think powder would be the only way to go as it is a much faster process. As it is I tie my own steelhead jigs and the pink jigs I just do on the side when I am stocked up on steelhead and still have time to tie.
I built a little oven that holds about 180 jigs at a time. I can dip & hang an oven full in about an hour.
Since I am not pressed for time they get three coats of vinyl. 1 white, 1 color, and 1 clear. I bake em for 24 hours after each dip, then they hang in open air to gas out at least a week (either tied or untied) before putting then in any type of container (ziplock, tackle box, whatever). These baby's are tough and bright.

Well that is a lot more then I put into my jigs with powder coat. Man, dedication! I have been mixing in UV powder in with my latest batch. The UV powder by itself turns out clear and very reflective- crystal like. It changes the hue a bit when added to the different colors, I do not know if it will make a difference or not. Figure it cant hurt. I gotta build something for my jigs, the wife is done with me using the oven in the house. Thinking one of those little Debbie kitchen things that my sisters used to bake cupcakes with back in the 80's. I tried the vinyl and my heads turned out, well nothing that I would show anybody else, so I went the powder coat route. got a candle and some forceps and a glass of bourbon. Nice relaxing night. Heat, coat and heat again until smooth and then let air dry, than heat again, but not near the direct heat until tacky then coat again and hang in oven. Seems to make for a rock hard finish.
