Well, I have a 2004 mercury kicker that I'd like to trade. This motor has been in the WaLakes family for quite a while. It has the EZ steer linkage (no tiller) and runs great. I haven't been able to use it for a while because it has a short shaft, and so I'd like to trade it for a long shaft motor around the same HP, or a riptide trolling motor in the 72 to 101 transom mount variety. My drift boat needs a longer motor to get pushed around, so it's going to need to be a long shaft tiller. I'll throw in my old 30 lbs minn kota if you can trade an electric as well. Maybe even a couple rods, I'm sure we can work something out. This is a third generation WaLakes motor, I'd like to keep it in the family. It used to be owned by Matt, many of you know him and he keeps his equipment in ship shape, and I've continued the tradition. Send me a PM if you have something along these lines.

Have you considered a short to long shaft conversion kit? Many times there is a kit including a bolt on housing, slip on drive shaft, and shift shaft extension.

If you can change out the water pump impeller. This operation to the lower unit, would be the identical procedure. Only adding 3 parts during assembly.

I've looked into it, and the cost for the parts is worth more than the motor. If I were to go that route, I'd end up buying a new motor.
