All,

I found a rip in the cloth material on one of my pontoon casings the other day. Luckily the bladder is still in good shape.

I have 4 choices:
1. Repair it. But I don't know anyone with an industrial machine.
2. Replace it. That's where I am at right now...looking for 1or a complete set.
3. Buy a whole new pontoon. Not in the funds right now.
4. Build a set of PVC pontoons to set my frame on. Not difficult but time consuming. Then again...is it worth the effort?

Anyway...
The pontoon is an outfitter 300 with 8' pontoons.
Wouldn't mind finding a set of 9 or 10' replacements though....

The materials not that heavy, you could sew it with a joe sewing machine. You can get the fabric at Seattle Fabric, quick and easy repair. They also have the material that dry bags are made out of and the coating is pretty low temp. You can make a bag without sewing, or you could make a patch and iron it on and be paddling away. Lots of easy options to fix.

Looked a lot more complicated than you make it sound...

Even a no-talent old man like me can do an iron on...I'll have to consider that one for sure!

Bought upholstery needles and upholstery thread, and iron on patches.
Figured I would just repair it but....
Then I found that the manufacturer had a Christmas sale on.
So I bought new casing AND bladders for $157 and free shipping.

I'll still do the patch job but now I have a set for freshwater and one for saltwater....

Next step will be a second frame (aluminum).
