Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

Hah that sucks, I remember seeing on one of the Exit Offramps from I-5 someone's trailer with a saltwater boat had fell over while they were towing it, guess they were going too fast around the curve and the boat and trailer tipped over. Kind of reminds me of that with the boat on land.
RE:Really officer...I've only had a couple of beers.
I am hoping it wasnt alcohol related and that the throttles all jammed, and he had to land that aircraft safely.

Nah, in Lake Tapps they like to participate in underage drinking and run over other unsuspecting boaters, not walls.kevinb wrote:Oh man,....that poor wall![]()

I think I'll take my shotgun when I go to Tapps, and shoot first and no questions.bionic_one wrote:Nah, in Lake Tapps they like to participate in underage drinking and run over other unsuspecting boaters, not walls.kevinb wrote:Oh man,....that poor wall![]()

Also, 750 HP on a center console boat = a SERIOUS case of SPS.

There were palm trees in the pic so we know it wasnt here.I've seen some real boneheaded things while boating and fishing. I have to say I've done a few myself. Like forgetting the plug in the bottom. Or forgot the gas.Ive brought downriggers with no ball weights. Usually stupid forgetful things. Nothing like that.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
RE:Really officer...I've only had a couple of beers.
Yup, can't say I'm immune from the "What was I thinking?!" moments myself. In earlier days, my buddy and I took a friend of ours out in his parents 17' Seaswirl. We winched the boat onto the trailer with her in it, then he went to pull up the ramp to park and put the straps on. Somebody (your's truelyracfish wrote:........ edit: ....and no alcohol was even involved in the above incident.

RE:Really officer...I've only had a couple of beers.
No need for the safety chain if the bow strap/rope/line is attached and the winch is locked down on the pawl. Did the strap break/sewn threads come apart, or did the pawl/lock slip/not get fully engaged? Altho it doesn't hurt to attach the safety chain at that time anyway, only takes a second.
Years ago I was at the launch getting ready to launch when some teenagers were retrieving their boat. As they were driving up the launch the hook on the bow strap broke and the boat's stern/motor hit the pavement. I gave them a shackle to attach their rope to the boat and they winched the bow down onto the trailer and up tight. All seemed to be ok. Wasn't their fault, don't have any idea why the hook broke.

AMX, the lock either was not fully engaged or slipped as it freewheeled when the truck started moving. Simply hooking up the safety chain would have arrested the boat's physics demonstration.
